Weekend Platter: Wine tasting, foodie sightings & more Credit: CL Archive

This weekend’s bill of CL-approved food and drink events highlight tastings and chef sightings.

Whole Foods Market in Tampa’s Carrollwood neighborhood is hosting Peace, Love and Organic Wine Tasting 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. Theย grocer will pair 25 wines with organic cheeses, and the selected vinos are either made with organic grapes or through biodynamic grape farming. Fans of Zane Lamprey, writer, comedian and host of Have Fork, Will Travel ,   should stop by Riverview’sย  Kenny's Liquor ย between 6 and 9 p.m. Friday. Lamprey, who’s best known for his time on the pub-crawl show Three Sheets , is set to meet with fans and sign bottles of his Monkey Rum. Hosted atย  Bookstore1Sarasota , a book signing by chef Paul Mattison is scheduled for noon on Saturday. Mattison, author of The Story and Recipes of Chef Paul Mattison , owns the Sarasota-basedย Mattison’s restaurant brand, and was also one of five chefs invited to attend California’sย American Harvest Workshop this month.ย  Free. 1359 Main St., Sarasota, 941-365-7900.
