A new place to watch sporting events (or eat chicken wings and pretend like you’re watching) is slated to open in one of downtown Tampa’s most notable towers.
As
ThatssoTampa reported earlier this week,
Top Shelf Sports Lounge will open on the bottom floor of the Truist Building at 401 E Jackson St. The 4,674-square-foot restaurant—which features an outdoor patio—will debut sometime in 2023.
Known for its upscale bar food, weekly specials, cocktail program and brunch menu, Top Shelf is a culinary destination as well as a go-to place to watch your favorite Tampa Bay team play. Popular dishes include its Ybor egg rolls (think of a tiny, fried Cuban sandwich), a wide variety of poutine, burgers, quesadillas and of course, the highlight of any sports bar—chicken wings.
Top Shelf Sports Lounge also keeps a hefty rotation of both national and local beers on tap, and serves common cocktails and wine as well.
The
Tampa Bay Times says that downtown Tampa’s new Top Shelf Sports Lounge will a more elevated version of its flagship Wesley Chapel location. The original Top Shelf debuted in 2017 on the second floor of the AdventHealth Center Ice—one of Florida’s largest ice skating and hockey facilities.
According to building management company
Highwoods Properties, its revamped downtown Tampa tower will also include office spaces, a conference and training facility, a full-service bank and a Blender Bar smoothie shop.
