It's a little late for Bite Squad to be releasing year-end lists, but whatevs. We still wanna know what grub the Bay area ordered the most in 2018.
According to the on-demand restaurant delivery service, these were the top five requests:
1. Pad Thai from downtown St. Pete's 9 Bangkok
2. Chick-fil-A nuggets
3. Spring rolls, also found at 9 Bangkok
4. Chick-fil-A sandwich
5. Boneless wings from Mugs 'N Jugs
Crab Rangoon (9 Bangkok), create-your-own ice cream (Cold Stone Creamery) and fried rice (9 Bangkok, yet again) — plus a soft-shell taco (St. Pete's TacoSon) and a chicken entree (Oishi Sushi & Japanese Steak House in St. Pete) — close out the round-up, in that order.
Bite Squad drivers in 375-plus cities delivered food from more than 11,000 eateries to couch potatoes nationwide last year. Tampa Bay, as the delivery service tells it, ate more fried rice in 2018 than in 2017, as well as more Chick-fil-A sandwiches and quesadillas.
As for the top five restaurants around town, 9 Bangkok took the No. 1 spot, which is pretty clear. Locals considered BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse, Oishi, downtown St. Pete's Pin Wok & Bowl and Chili's among their favorites, too.
