Whiskey-glazed skirt steak, red potatoes and Guinness stout cake will soak up the buzz from Irish whiskeys like Redbreast and Jameson during the James Joyce Whiskey Tasting and Dinner 6 p.m. Saturday.
Hosted at O'Briens Irish Pub in Brandon, the $30 gathering, produced by the New World Celts of Brandon and limited to 35 people, will celebrate poet and novelist James Joyce. Dressed in character, New World Celt member Colin King will discuss Joyce's final book, Finnegans Wake, during the event.
In addition to Redbreast and Jameson whiskeys, Southern Wine & Spirits will pour samples of Green Spot and Paddy for guests to taste, and a raffle for whiskey and other items will be featured. Guests may purchase raffle tickets throughout the evening.
