Last week, iconic slider slinger White Castle revealed it would add Impossible Foods’ plant-based Impossible Burger to the menu. Now, unsurprisingly, people have returned to calling out another fast-food giant, McDonald’s, for not following suit with a vegan patty in the U.S.

Social media blew up when Mickey D’s decided to exclusively roll out the McVegan (soybean steak topped with vegan “McFeast” sauce, tomato, lettuce and pickles) across Finland and Sweden back in December, but on the heels of this White Castle announcement? Some folks here in the States are really fed up.

There’s a Care2 petition and everything.

“American animals and people deserve to have a cruelty-free option in McDonald’s stores too,” reads the online request (demand?). “That’s why Care2 is calling on McDonald’s to bring their vegan burger to the U.S.”

Ugh. Why can’t you just be like White Castle, McDonald’s?

At the time of publication, the petition had gathered signatures from more than 23,000 backers. It was recently started with the goal of 25,000
