Prepare for another food truck grub-induced coma next weekend.
As the Guinness World Record-holder for the largest parade of food trucks, the World's Largest Food Truck Festival Ever, presented by Generation Food Truck's Jeremy and Candy Gomez and the Florida State Fair Authority, will return for a third year to the Florida State Fairgrounds with a two-day gathering.
The event — set for 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 28, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 29 — is expected to draw a foodie folk crowd of more than 30,000 (that's around 10,000 more than the inaugural fest attracted in 2013).
More than 100 mobile kitchens will be the weekend's main highlight, with selections that range "from pad thai to pierogies, churros to chicken wings and seafood to sweet potato pie," according to a press release.
"The festival continues to grow, and is gaining national credibility each and every year," Jeremy said in the release.
Festgoers will be encouraged to nominate their favorite trucks for three People's Choice categories: Best Tasting Food, Most Unique Food and Best Presentation. Although the winners will be announced Sunday, there will be plenty of beyond-the-belly fun throughout the festival, too.
A Kid's Fun Zone will have the tykes literally bouncing off inflatable walls, hopefully after they've digested their eats, and more. Meanwhile, live tunes from six acts, including Randy McNeely and Radio Crime, will help the crowd get its groove on.
