New Mexican restaurant, XoChitl Cocina Mexicana, coming soon to Tampa Heights

A new Mexican restaurant is coming along at 307 W. Palm Ave. in Tampa Heights, called XoChitl Cocina Mexicana. Might spur a little competition from Armature Works, which is located directly across the street. Locals will now have all of Armature Works residents, Stones Throw, Ulele and forthcoming XoChitl (or a short walk to Hall on Franklin) to choose from when it comes time to dine.

Rather than a stand-alone joint, XoChitl is stationed on the ground floor of the Pearl apartment complex. According to its website, the Mexican kitchen is set to open this fall (the clock is ticking) and serve up handcrafted modern "carefully curated dishes to pair with an impressive roster of drinks and style."

As of Tuesday, November 12, XoChitl posted to social media an update that the restaurant received its booth seating, which means it shouldn't be long now. More details to come as the finishing touches are complete and an official opening date is announced.
