In Tampa, Flynn’s Retro Bar & Gaming is historic Ybor City’s answer to an arcade bar. Flynn’s celebrated its grand opening in the neighborhood on Sept. 29, and the new watering hole with classic coin-operated video games has taken over the former home of Liquid at 1502 E. Seventh Ave.

Flynn’s aims to capture the essence of the ’80s and ’90s, allowing patrons to choose from pinball machines and other arcade favorites like Dig Dug and Mortal Kombat while getting their adult beverage on. Sex & Candy, a cotton-candy margarita, is among the signature creations offered on the recently launched drink menu, and happy hour specials include two-for-one wells till 8 p.m.

Alongside the gaming options, Flynn’s features two full bars and a mix of high-top table and bar seating throughout its small digs, as well as a second-level hangout area overlooking the action on the first floor.
