How often are bartenders able to flex their flavor pairing skills to create an original cocktail while on the clock? As part of Big Easy Bar's bi-annual cocktail menu refresh, the concept decided to let its bartending team shine by featuring their original creations on the menu.
"It's an exciting opportunity, especially for someone like me who has been behind a bar for almost 20 years but has never had any of my own creations featured on a cocktail list. There’s a sense of pride that comes with that, and it shows when we interact with our guests," bar lead and marketing coordinator at Big Easy, Daniel Jordan, told CL in an email.
After the reins were handed over to the mixologists behind the bar, four new cocktails were crafted and creatively named— "Heavy Fruit," "I'll Have What She’s Having," "PC Flip," and "Under His Pie."
If you're familiar with Big Easy's former cocktail list, don't worry, the Big Easy Old-Fashioned (a cedar-smoked old fashioned with Four Roses Yellow Label Bourbon served over rocks) isn't going anywhere.
You can slide by and try a new cocktail from 3 p.m.-1 a.m. Mon.-Thurs., 3 p.m.-3 a.m. Fri., 11 a.m.-3 a.m. Sat., 11 a.m.-1 a.m. Sun. Big Easy Bar is located at 1704 E. 7th Ave. in Ybor.
