The beer selection at ZooTampa at Lowry Park just got way more local.
The rehabilitation-focused zoo—located at 1101 W Sligh Ave. in Tampa—just announced that it's teamed up with Ybor City-based Coppertail Brewing Co. to help further wildlife conservation efforts.
According to a press release, “the two companies decided to form the partnership following a shared commitment to environmental efforts and the market’s taste for craft beers that support a local non-profit’s mission.”
The Tampa-based brewery and popular zoo formalized their collaboration through 2024.
In addition to serving Coppertail’s brews—like its popular “Florida Special” American lager or “Free Dive” IPA— throughout the zoo, the brewery will now sponsor its ZooBrews events, after-hours parties where folks can sip drinks and visit the animal enclosures. Proceeds from these events support conservation, animal care, and community education programs.
Next week’s ZooBrews event is sold-out on all ticketing tiers, but keep an eye out for the next party that will be sure to feature Coppertail’s many different craft beers.
Coppertail Brewing will also be the the presenting partner of ZooTampa’s Beer & Wine Garden, a shaded outdoor area located in its Africa Circle.
“As a local brewery, we’re passionate about protecting those things that make Florida such an amazing place to live, like our native wildlife. We’re proud to support the Zoo’s efforts to rehabilitate and conserve these native species,” said Coppertail Brewing Co. President Kent Bailey about the company's recent partnership.
And if you don’t feel like taking a zoo trip to sip on Coppertail’s brews, its only
taproom is located in Ybor City at 2601 E 2nd Ave. and is open seven days a week.
Zoo Tampa is operated by the Lowry Park Zoological Society, a charitable organization committed to excellence in conservation, education, recreation, and research. More information about its extensive conservation efforts can be found at
