On Tuesday, state coronavirus and COVID-19 data said that in Hillsborough County, 229,678 people have been vaccinated (205,196 in Pinellas). The Bay area also added 906 cases and 35 deaths on Tuesday, according to analysis from the Tampa Bay Times.

Hillsborough County led the region with 397 new cases of the coronavirus reported Tuesday (Pinellas had 142 cases), and while those numbers are encouraging, Hillsborough’s 9.2% positivity rate is well above the World Health Organization suggestion of 5% or lower (Pinellas’ rate is 5.2%).

Still, the live local music scene is picking itself up. We’ve marked the gigs at venues that have joined a Tampa-based and city-recognized “Safe & Sound” initiative that pledges to strictly enforce limited capacity, mask wearing and social distancing—and tried our best to explain COVID-19 protocols at venues that not able to join Tampa’s “Safe & Sound” program.
