23 new concerts coming to Tampa Bay, including Clem Snide, Young The Giant and more

For two-and-a-half decades now, Eef Barzelay has quietly made a name as a revered songwriter who can bring an audience to tears and induce big sing-alongs to melancholy versions of ‘80s pop hits like Journey’s “Faithfully” (he does other, more obscure covers, too).

The 52-year-old—who experienced a resurgence when he started to co-write with superfan Scott Avett of the Avett Brothers—has mostly done that with his band, Clem Snide, which is coming to Tampa as part of a national tour with four Florida dates.

Tickets to see Clem Snide at The Attic at Rock Brothers in Ybor City on Thursday, Feb. 23 are on sale now for $20-$30.

Barzelay & co. will work through cuts from Clem Snide’s 24-year-old discography at the show, and hopefully do some storytelling since he’s also the brains behind the podcast, “A Life In Song with Clem Snide” where ordinary people share stories before Barzelay plays an original song inspired by the tale.
