Coming in between Chic and the Power Station, Good Groove lives up to its title with a sound that's both funkier and leaner than either of those two. Regular mates Tony Thompson and Bernard Edwards are on hand to fatten the beat up, but in the end this LP is a showcase for Rodgers' ultra-slinky rhythm guitar work. This is one of those underheralded dancefloor gems of the '80s.
