
The 66-year-old composer and percussionist has recorded and performed with greats like Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Byrd—and appeared in close to 100 albums, according to Jazz Times.
He arrives in Tampa supporting with a 2019 album, Groove City, in hand. The record includes standards, a couple of Monty Alexander tunes and originals. Redd, a bonafide master of the vibraphone, will be backed by La Lucha for this matinee.
Tickets to see Chuck Redd play Mainstage Theater at Hillsborough Community College in Ybor City on Sunday, Feb. 2 are still available and start at $10.
