This Clearwater show from Texas’ finest crooner and cowboy has been simmering since last March and a lot’s happened since its announcement.

Crockett, a descendant of Davy, has put out two solid albums and recently spoke up against attacks on Beyonce by telling country fans that have a problem with her new album that the Destiny’s Child principal is not their source of discontent.

“The machine points to a black woman who’s making a statement about marginalized people being removed from the conversation altogether, and somehow we all act like the entire pop industry didn’t just ambush roots music. These ‘“’country boys’ been *singing* over trap beats for years,” he wrote in a statement. “So what’s different now?”

Come see him be unfiltered alongside Leon Bridges (they both play full sets), and make sure to get to the BayCare Sound early. The show is the 100th concert for the venue, which opened two years ago, and its operator, Ruth Eckerd Hall, is celebrating by giving a commemorative trucker hat to the first 100 attendees who visit the marketing table.
