The pandemic forced Pig Jig—where proceeds benefit research and treatment for the benefit of patients with the rare kidney disease focal segmental glomerulosclerosis—to take a year off, and fans were so excited to be back that the BBQ and music festival sold out quickly.

You’ll have to stand outside the fest’s new home, Julian B. Lane Park, to catch a whiff of what the more than 65 BBQ teams are cooking, and if you’re lucky you’ll hear songs from Pig Jig’s Grammy-winning headliner Darius Rucker (not Hootie), too. Naturally, there’s a recovery brunch for this affair.

Tampa Pig Jig: Darius Rucker w/Judah & the Lion/Wilderado/Brett Young/Peyton Porter. Saturday, Oct. 23. Sold-out. Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, Tampa. tampapigjig.com
