The pandemic forced Tampa Pig Jig to take a year off, postponing the BBQ and music festival’s move to Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, but it’s back with a Grammy-winning headliner.
This morning, Tampa Pig Jig—which is celebrating its 10th year—announced that Darius Rucker (not Hootie) will headline the festival on October 23 in downtown Tampa. Indie-pop favorites Judah & the Lion and Wilderado join country songwriter Brett Young on the bill.
Tickets for Tampa Pig Jig 2021 go on sale Friday, May 21 at 10 a.m. for $40. A $60 ticket option includes a “a picnic-style “BBQ in a box” sampling and You-Pick-Two selection of beer from Florida Avenue Brewing Co. from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on event day,” and there are also VIP tickets ($140) which include food and drink. Kids 10 and under are free with accompanying adult.
Proceeds from Tampa Pig Jig are directed towards its nonprofit partner NephCure Kidney International, which supports research and treatment for the benefit of patients with the rare kidney disease focal segmental glomerulosclerosis.
