Major condolences to all of you deadheads (hopefully you know by now that Dead & Co. canceled its Florida dates, including an Oct. 7 stop in Tampa). On the bright side, two of Florida’s best tribute acts fill the void on Thursday with a pair of shows four miles away, helping the hurt heal at little faster.

We’re not sure if Miami’s Unlimited Devotion (playing New World Brewery) or Tampa’s Uncle John’s Band (at Skipper’s Smokehouse, pictured above) will bring in a John Mayer replacement, but either way you’ll get to hear “Fire on the Mountain” at these Tampa gigs. New World requires either a negative COVID-19 test within 72-hours of the show or proof of vaccination; Skipper’s has no protocols advertised—pick your poison.

  • Unlimited Devotion Thursday, Oct. 7, 8 p.m. $10. Music Hall at New World Brewery, Tampa. newworldtampa.com
  • Uncle John’s Band Thursday, Oct. 7, 8 p.m. $5. Skipper’s Smokehouse, Tampa. skipperssmokehouse.com
