It's been a nice 12-hour swing for downtown Tampa music lovers. Yesterday, the Tampa Pig Jig announced jam rock elder statesmen O.A.R. as a headliners, and Tampa Theatre just announced that Drive-By Truckers will be performing at the historic venue on November 16.
DO THIS: DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS AT TAMPA THEATRE 11.16.16
Tickets for the Drive-By Truckers show are $34.50 and go on sale Friday, August 5 via tampatheatre.org. If you're more of a face-to-face lad/lassie, then rest assured because you can get your hard ticket stub from the Tampa Theatre box office located at 711 N. Franklin St. in downtown Tampa.
Louisiana singer-songwriter, and SubPop signee, Kyle Craft will open for DBT, who just released a screw-you-if-you-don't-wanna-talk-politics new song, "What It Means." The six-minute slow-burner is set for release on September via ATO Records. It name drops Obama and is clear cut in its anger about racial tensions that have come to a boil in the media.
"'What It Means'" is a song I wrote a couple of years ago protesting the Ferguson decision and the Trayvon Martin killing," frontman Patterson Hood told Rolling Stone. "Unfortunately, the song is still timely today. I hope and pray that one day it won't be."
