The Jacksonville-area native lost his father recently, and the influence of Grey’s family has always bled into so much of Mofro’s celebrated, nearly 20-year-old discography.

JJ Grey & Mofro w/Roosevelt Collier. Sat. Sept. 7, 7 p.m. $35 & up. Jessie's Lounge, Winter Haven. Centralfloridatix.com.
