Tampa Bay jazz fans who just don’t see themselves getting out of bed until sundown on the day after Christmas are covered thanks to trumpeter Jame s Suggs who leads a quintet that includes a who’s who of the local scene.

For a preview of what might be on tap, listen an August WUSF session where bassist Alejandro Arenas and pianist John O’Leary III (bandmates in La Lucha) joined drummer Jean Bolduc to back singer Bryan J. Hughes ahead of a Duke Ellington tribute concert.

If you don’t like sharing good music with your family, then wait until they leave town and catch this residency at one of downtown St. Pete’s most gorgeous venues next week, or the week after that, or the week after that… up until Jan. 23.
