Just like love, metal spans languages, and countries. For proof, look no further than French heavy-metal band Gojira. Though it turns out, the band only sings in English, has a studio in New York City and has been nominated for a couple Grammy awards, so the foursome is pretty American-ized. This isn’t the first trip to the Bay area for the Billboard-charting band, but like most out-of-towners the band hasn’t been here since opening for Slipknot in 2019. You can still impress the band—instead of saying “encore” say “une autre.” Je vous en prie.
Gojira w/Knocked Loose/Alien Weaponry. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 6 p.m. $34.50-$40. Jannus Live, St. Petersburg. jannuslive.com
