Wisconsin band Garbage has racked up a considerable amount of local history in its 22 years. But its goodbye to Tampa Bay is much more intimate than area shows of the last few years.
When COVID-19 restrictions loosened up and concerts made a comeback in summer of 2021, the alt-rock fourpiece hadnโt played a gig in Tampa Bay since opening for U2 nearly 20 odd years prior. But that changed when it supported Alanis Morissette at the old Gary amphitheater. Shirley Manson and friends would hit the same stage in the summers to come as an opener for Tears For Fears, and as headliners for their own tour, featuring Noel Gallagherโs High Flying Birds playing support.
But this weekend, the bandโwhich is pushing its uber-positive new album Let All That We Imagine Be the Lightโis taking to the much-smaller Jannus Live for what appears to be its last-ever stop in town before calling it a day. L.A.-based glam rock outfit Starcrawler opens.
