The surviving members of Rush announced another wave of dates for their reunion tour this morning, and there’s a Tampa show locked in for next November.
The soon-to-be-even-shittier 2020 started with the January death of Neil Peart. Bassist Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson stayed slightly constant in the public eye though, performing at the South Park 25th Anniversary concert in Colorado three years ago, and also joining forces with Henderson Brewing Company to put out official Rush beer.
Earlier this month, after a seemingly endless amount of mixed feelings among fans and themselves, the Canadian icons announced a North American “Fifty Something” tour, which was originally set to hit seven cities across the U.S. and Canada.
Filling Peart’s massive shoes on this tour will be German drummer Anika Nilles, who got her start on YouTube and ended up drumming for Jeff Beck at some of his final shows before his own 2023 passing.
