It's exciting times for Lauren Mitchell and her namesake group the Lauren Mitchell Band – they just took home the gold at the Suncoast Blues Challenge and will now go on to represent the Suncoast Blues Society at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis this January.
Influenced by legendary female singers such as Etta James, Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin, Lauren has honed her craft belting out the blues in hundreds of honky tonks around the country.
When she isn't traversing the highways and byways of the good old U.S.A. you can catch Lauren and the band at prominent venues around Tampa Bay. Upcoming gigs include appearances at The Palladium Theatre's Side Door on Friday, Nov. 8 and the Dunedin Wines The Blues Festival on Saturday, Nov. 9.
