Jason Isbell’s long and storied history in the Bay area goes back to 2007 when the still-drinkin’ guitarist plays knockout (and blackout) shows at Crowbar. (Tell me the lyrics on “Traveling Alone” aren’t a nod to those days, and I’ll call you a liar).

The 46-year-old Grammy darling is back in town with his new teeth, and a new album, Foxes in the Snow, that painfully confronts his recent divorce from songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Amanda Shires.
