Jawbreaker fans have been drooling over the seminal emo band’s fresh batch of new tour dates, but the big news out of the Bay area is the inclusion of Tampa’s own contribution to second wave emo, Pohgoh.

The local group — which released one of CL’s favorite albums of 2018 — has been tapped to open seven dates on Jawbreaker’s east coast tour, starting with a March 22 date at Boston’s House of Blues.

A pair of shows at New York City’s Brooklyn Steel will follow before the jaunt takes Pohgoh, Jawbreaker and War on Women to Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Norfolk and Sayreville (see a full itinerary below).

“Blake [Schwarzenbach, guitarist] saw the video for our song ‘Business Mode’ online and commented how much he loved it,” Pohgoh drummer Keith Ulrey told CL. Schwarzenbach, 51, then caught Pohgoh during a New York City show on its own east coast tour and told the band that he really enjoyed it.

“Adam [Pfahler, Jawbreaker drummer] called Susie [Ulrey, Pohgoh frontwoman] and asked her if we'd join them on tour,” Ulrey added.

Fucking nuts, right? Tickets to the shows start at $35 and are available via jawbreakerband.com. Watch the video that started it all below.
