New Tampa Performing Arts Center is aiming to host a series of shows that imitate the idea of โ€œMTV Unplugged,โ€ because would it kill some of our locals to go acoustic once in a while?

Multi-cultural fusion trio La Lucha will help the venue test the waters with this new idea by, as implied, staging an acoustic show, with a little help from Brazilian trombonist Franรงois de Lima and old friend-slash-international guitar hero LaRue Nickelson.

If you go, youโ€™ll also get to hear unreleased material set to be recorded by the band in Nashville later this summer.

Tickets to see La Lucha play “New Tampa Unplugged” on Sunday, May 19 are still available and start at $13.
