The debut EP from Tampa rock & roll outfit Ninehorn is not gentle music. In fact, it sounds like what it must feel like to be Josh Homme's left testicle all tucked tightly in the Queens of the Stone Age frontman's sexy jeans.

The analogy is fair because frontman Dr. Charles Swann and his compatriots — drummer Andrew Pellegrino, bassist Jeffery Dominguez and guitarist Luke Lopez — all but worship QOTSA.

In a letter to Dave Grohl, Ninehorn drummer proclaimed that the Queens's 2002 LP, Songs For the Deaf is "gospel."

We haven't heard back on whether or not Grohl will actually appear in Ninehorn's new video, but we hear this EP — recorded and mixed by Alexander Charos with Phillip Charos at Yokophono Studios, St. Petersburg, FL — loud and clear.

The band plays a free show at Green Bench Brewing Co. alongside Tampa's own Empire Cinema, and more information is available via CL's events calendar.
