An extreme low-angle, wide-shot photograph of five men, members of the band High Press, huddled together in a circle and looking down into the camera. The background is dark, likely taken at night. The man in the foreground on the left wears a dark blue t-shirt with orange and white text that reads "Hayley Williams is turning your children gay." The man to his right wears a white and dark blue baseball jersey. Two men at the top left and top center wear black t-shirts and glasses, and the fifth man, on the upper right, wears a black t-shirt with a tattoo sleeve visible on his left arm.

It’s been a busy year for local third-wave emo outfit High Press, and the latter quarter of the year is about to get crazier.

The band, which describes its sound as one that stays true to auditory emo vibes while exploring just how terrifying your thirties can be, has already announced the release of a new single, “Call It Coping.” As it turns out, the track is part of the full EP “Thanks For Asking,” which is due out on Halloween.

Last week, guitarist R.J. Taylor and his three-year-old son Amos took to social media to announce the EP release, as well as a release party next month with support from indie rock outfit HollowHouse and pop-punk band If I’m Lucky. Members of those bands have said that the EP is super catchy, so be ready to wallow or reminisce about your incoming, past, or in-progress fourth decade at New World.

Tickets to see High Press play the Music Hall inside Tampa’s New World Brewery on Saturday, Nov. 8 are now available and cost $10.
