Lollapalooza, which has rebounded in recent years to the top of the list of American rock festivals (along with Coachella and Bonnaroo), turns 20 starting this Friday, when the music begins for three days in Chicago's Grant Park.
The headliners this year are Eminem, Coldplay, My Morning Jacket and the Foo Fighters. And unlike recent premier festivals, the weather isn't expected to be extreme (in the low to mid 80s all three days) this weekend.
Lolla has certainly had its ups and down over the past two decades, but seems to have righted itself in recent years. And at 20, this year's festival is eliciting memories of the very first of its kind, back in 1991.
