Smiths singer Morrissey has canceled his first concerts of 2026, blaming an “adverse reaction” to “prescription medication,” but his January show in St. Petersburg is still on… for now.
Morrissey’s Tampa Bay show is the second-to-last stop on his current wintertime run through the U.S. and is set for Tuesday, Jan. 20 at Mahaffey Theater. Unironically, it is a rescheduled date that was supposed to happen last May.
The question remains for many Tampa Bay fans whether the British crooner will postpone or cancel yet again for a city that seems to have undying—yet unrequited—love for his melodramatic ballads.

Description
The 66-year-old’s first shows of the year were supposed to happen on the west coast, but the new cancellations follow Morrissey scrapping the remainder of his 2025 dates in November due to “extreme exhaustion.“
San Antonio is next on the tour after the back-to-back cancellations. That is, if Morrissey shows up.
If not, it will mark the fifth time in a row that “this charming man” has stood up the Alamo City. Will Florida—where Morrissey is also supposed to play Hollywood’s Hard Rock Live on Jan. 22—get let down again?
