UPDATE On Wednesday afternoon, well after this show preview went to print, promoters and bands decided to cancel the show in the best interest of the health of the community. “With numbers climbing and the inevitable surge upon us, we just feel it’s the humane thing to do and don’t want to be contributors to any remote chance of someone getting sick from our event,” Keith Ulrey wrote. “Presale tickets will be refunded asap. 2021 go fuck yourself. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, etc etc etc.”
Promoter Keith Ulrey is still trying to keep things safe at the 18 and up show with many protocols in place including a negative COVID-19 PCR test result (within 48 hours of the event)—as an alternative your may volunteer proof of vaccination. Masks are also required—a last minute decision in response to the rise of Omicron.
Ulrey’s ’90s-era emo band Pohgoh is part of a stellar lineup featuring musical friends we haven’t heard from in a bit.
Opening the show is Bad, Bad Things, a new project from Career frontman Ryan Fouche. “We’re a four piece power-poppy/punk band. Pretty new, this’ll be our second show,” Fouche told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay. Rutterkin’s James Pendleton, Pet Lizard’s Kirsten Clauser and drummer David Lamb fill out the rest of the BBT lineup.
