A little bit of “Kyoto” is coming to Ybor City, care of Grammy-nominated indie-rock superstar and Saddest Factory label head Phoebe Bridgers, who’s booked a show at the Cuban Club this summer.

Details about tickets to see Phoebe Bridgers play the Cuban Club in Tampa, Florida on May 24 aren’t available yet, but tickets for the tour’s only other Florida date (May 25 at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre) go on sale to the public on Friday, March 11 at 12 p.m. EDT.

A Ticketmaster Verified Fan site is taking registration ahead of all dates, including Bridgers’ May 24 date at the Cuban Club in Ybor City.

Bridgers—who accepted Billboard’s Trailblazer Award at last week’s Billboard Women in Music Awards—has not played Tampa since a 2017 set at Gasparilla Music Festival, before her critically acclaimed debut full-length Stranger In the Alps dropped that year ahead of a 2020 follow-up that landed the Los Angeles songwriter four Grammy nominations.

By any guess, this would be an outdoor Cuban Club show, and the booking there is fitting as the venue is probably one of the most haunted places in Tampa.

“I assure you there is tons of death on [her debut full-length], it’s like having people reading my diary,” Bridgers told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay in a 2017 interview where she also requested to know the location of Tampa’s carny cemetery. “You should definitely Tweet the cemetery to me because that would be the most goth tweet ever and I would definitely go,” Bridgers added.

Well, Showmen’s Rest is on the north end of Tampa Heights’ Oaklawn Cemetery, on the corner of N Boulevard and W Indiana Avenue—just two-and-half miles from the venue.
