We probably won’t see another Aerosmith show in Tampa Bay, but co-founder Joe Perry says that his performing days are far from finished.
The 74-year-old brought opening night of a new tour from his all-star, self-titled project—which has been on-and-off since an era of extra turbulence in ‘Aero in 1979—to a very sold-out Hard Rock Event Center last Wednesday.
While fellow Aerosmith members Brad Whitford and Buck Johnson shared the stage with their brother, Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson who seemed slightly stiff with some rough vocals at first, but got exponentially better as the night went on.
Stone Temple Pilots drummer Eric Kretz did have to drop out the Joe Perry Project lineup at the 11th hour due to a family emergency, and was replaced by Jason Sutter, who has banged the cans for Chris Cornell and Smash Mouth.
