John Lydon's Public Image Ltd., the groundbreaking band he formed after the demise of the Sex Pistols in the late 1970's that produced some great records in the 1980's, will be performing at the Cuban Club in Ybor City on October 6.
The Tampa gig will be their third show on their 2012 fall tour, which begins in Orlando on October 3.
The seminal band took 18 years off between 1993 and 2010, when they resurfaced with a series of surprisingly dynamic shows in England and North America.
This reporter caught PiL on the opening night of the 2010 Coachella Tour, where they played the Outdoor Stage at 11:30 p.m. with a slighter smaller audience than the main headliner, Jay-Z, who performed simultaneously on the big stage. Check out this version of "Public Image" from that show:
The band released This Is PiL, their first new album in 20 years, back in May.
