Redd Kross is finally coming back to Tampa Bay. The California rock band announced the news last week and will join the Melvins on a 10-week U.S. tour that hits Orpheum in Ybor City on October 23.
Other Florida stops include Orlando (October 12 at the Social), Ft. Lauderdale (October 22 at Culture Room) and Pensacola (October 25 at Vinyl Music Hall). Swedish songwriter Åsa Söderqvist (aka Shitkid) is also on the bill.
“Redd Kross and ShitKid are two of my favorites,” Melvins frontman Buzz Osborne said in a statement. “We’ve already done fantastic European tours with both of these bands so I know bringing them out with us on this trip will be a total mind blower for the lucky fans.”
Redd Kross once played the long-shuttered Empty Keg back in the day, and the last Bay area Redd Kross show CL can remember is a 1994 fairgrounds gig with Meat Puppets and Stone Temple Pilots. If you know of one in between then and now, then let us know.
Tickets start at $20 and are on sale via eventbrite.com.
