“They’ve had me sitting in on a song from their new album, and Susie has been joining us for a fun cover, so that’s rad too,” Have Gun guitarist Scott Anderson (pictured) told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay.
What’s more is that both bands supporting new releases. Have Gun’s Silver Sounds EP is finally out on silver, 10-inch vinyl, and Pohgoh is mini-touring behind 2022’s du und ich.
The record was supposed to enjoy an East Coast/Canada run before Pohgoh guitarist Matt Slate was forced to rest after carpal tunnel surgery. Slate’s back in action, and it’ll be cool to see different scenes intermingle, especially since Darren Rademaker—principal of revered indie-pop/country-rock hybrid The Tyde (and noise-pop band Further with his brother Brent of Beachwood Sparks)—is playing the Tampa and Sarasota shows on this tour just in time for the 20th anniversary of The Tyde’s Rough Trade gem Twice.
Spirit and the Cosmic Heart rounds out the bill.
