Nate Najar is no stranger to Bay area jazz fans, but he almost always plays onstage with musicians more rooted in tradition.

That goes out the window a bit for this one where saxophonist Jeff Kashiwa who plays an electrified take on sweaty, often sultry, smooth jazz.

Patrick Bettison plays keys on this one along with drummer Dave Reinhardt.

Tickets to see Nate Najar and Jeff Kashiwa play Side Door Cabaret at St. Petersburg’s Palladium Theater on Thursday, June 26 are still available and start at $45.
