Legendary Chicago rock band STYX will visit Ruth Eckerd Hall to help us all sail away from the daily assault of pandemic and election news.

The six-man band will perform a socially-distanced concert on Thursday, December 10, at 8 p.m.

STYX, which came to prominence in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, has released 16 studio albums throughout its run, becoming the first group to score four triple-platinum albums in a row.

The current iteration of STYX has been on the road for over a decade, and is looking to perform for as long as they’re able.  "We just want to keep on doing this," said vocalist Tommy Shaw in a press release, "We want to let life take its course and let this music continue to be the soundtrack to it.

The band played Ruth Eckerd Hall back in January of this year.

Ruth Eckerd Hall was the first major Bay venue to experiment with socially distanced concerts back in June. Tickets priced at $100.50, $80.50, $60.50 and $40.50 will go on sale Friday, August 10 at 10 a.m. Visit RuthEckerdHall.com for more details.

Creative Loafing Tampa Bay reached out to Ruth Eckerd Hall to see how COVID-19 has affected seating for this show. We'll update the post with any new information.
