✔️ Mad Beach Block Party w/The Hip Abduction/Ries Bros./Resinated/NoNeed/Seranation/Of Good Nature/Oogee Wawa/Sowflo/Badda Skat/Ted Bowne/Signal Fire/more More than 15 bands will be on the beach this weekend when the second-ever Mad Beach Block Party parks itself at Infinite Descent scuba shop for two days of reggae-rock vibes. The Ries Brothers are sneaking a show in after opening for G. Love in St. Pete, and we’re extra-hyped for a hometown gig by The Hip Abduction, a St. Pete-based collective which seems to be able to bring even more party to its already rollicking world-pop sound for these shows closer to home. Gates are at noon each day, and the daily schedule is available via Instagram (@madbeachblockparty). (Infinite Descent, Madeira Beach) INFO

✔️ Direct Hit! w/NMBRS/Sandspur City/Sketchie Lovable Milwaukee punk-pop group Direct Hit! escapes the beastly cold of Mil-town for this Sunshine City stop alongside Operation Ivy-inspired SRQ punks Sketchie, Dave Decker and Richie Lawler-led Sandspur City and No Clear Records’ post-punk weirdos NMBRS. This one’s a little pricier than most Lucky You shows, but watching Direct Hit! (one of the most fun bands on an outrageously talented Fat Wreck Chords roster) will be well worth the $12. Tampa for Puerto Rico Music Festival and Car Show w/Fat Joe/Dave East/Royce da 5'9"/Roberto Blades/Luisito Carrión/Tonio Skits/Aramis Sol Caribe/DJ Speedy Jr./Joey Franchise/DJ Christion/DJ Nano Unfortunately, news of this festival didn't hit us until Wednesday, which is a bummer because it looks like organizers have tapped one of the most famous Boriquas to ever rock the mic to headline a music and car festival that aims to provide more aid to Puerto Rico, which, in case you forgot, is still trying to pick itself up after Hurricane Maria. ✔️ ‘80s Valentines Dance w/Doll Parts/Pretty Voices/Wolf-Face Pink paper hearts and glitter probably aren’t the first things that come to mind when you think of Planet Retro’s Rob Sexton, but the outspoken, sometimes-surly record shop owner is doling out feelings and opening his shop for this show, for which the space will transformed into a full-on Valentine’s Day dance complete with tacky decor, disco balls, contests and punch that someone is bound to spike. All ’80s tunes from the DJs and live music from Doll Parts, Pretty Voices and Wolf-Face. (Planet Retro Records, St. Petersburg) INFO
