Masked producer MF Doom has been a hip-hop anti-hero for an entire generation of young beatmakers, and recent news about several albums worth of songs he’s recorded with California MC and producer Madlib has created a renewed interest in the reclusive rap icon.

On Saturday, a group of local soundsmiths (Chosen, Lerner and Deejay Kellan) will join Bay area rapper Stoney Hoop for a producers meetup and concert at The Bricks celebrating the 48-year-old Doom (who will not be in attendance, just in case you're confused about that). There’s no cover, and there will be chances to score tickets to the always enlightening Tampa Bay Beat Week happening next month.
