In a new video for “Door of Time,” Tampa rock outfit Sleeping Pills reflects on what time and relationships do to each other.

The clip, shot by the band’s drummer Nate Irizarry and former bass player Joey Mustang, is an appetizer ahead of Sleeping Pills’ forthcoming album Occulting Light, due in July. The song—a shimmering new wave/post-punk guitar bop—reflects what was on frontman Phil Taylor’s mind during the creation of the album.

“All the songs on this album have an oceanic theme to them. The song tells a tale of discovering love oceanside,” Taylor told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay.

Taylor & co. are part of a bill topped by Bay area analog synth lord Ortrotasce, plus Orlando rock outfit Get With This.

Tickets to see Sleeping Pills play Hooch and Hive in Tampa on Friday, April 26 are still available and start at $9.
