When solo, the Band of Sorrows frontman Jack Sprouse plays stripped-down outlaw country-style Americana, some covers and some originals.
He’s a master of his trade—whatever style it is—having also played in the death metal band Cirrhosis. Sprouse made the switch to country “in the aftermath of his mother’s passing in 2012 and if playing country music to make your momma proud isn’t the most “country” thing ever, what is?”
The usual whiskey-soaked Sprouse also made a life change, and stopped drinking a couple of months ago. So don’t try and buy him a drink at this no-cover biergarten gig; according to his Facebook page Sprouse is trying out the dry life and is pretty proud of it.
