This benefit gig asks guests for a 10$ donation for its six-band bill of Tampa Bay punk, hard rock and alternative acts , including Rath, Penny Fountain, The Kutoffs, No Pants Maurice, Pig Pen and All She Wrote. If you give a donation, you’re automatically entered into the raffle for a chance to win a Harley Davidson swag bag.
All She Wrote, an alternative band based out of Clearwater, dropped its latest single “Pick up the Pieces” just a few weeks ago, while punk trio Pig Pen— which “plays short songs for people who don’t have a lot of spare time”—released its latest album License to Smash in 2020.
In addition to three-and-a-half hours of music, there will be local vendors, painters and artists at this community-center fundraiser. And if you have some used skateboard gear, you’re welcome to bring that too, because the charity Boards for Bros repurposes them for children that can’t afford them.
The other charity featured at this benefit concert is Punk Rock Saves Lives , a nonprofit that “seeks to improve the communities and neighborhoods we live in by promoting positive messages of change,” according to its website.
The entire event runs from 6 p.m.-9:30 p.m. at 9847 E Adamo Dr. in Tampa— skaters, punk rock-lovers, and charitable folks are welcome.
There’s a bunch of different sponsors for next month’s punk gig, from Daddy Kool Records to St. Pete’s Sunshine Roller Derby League—who you might see rolling around on their quad skates at this benefit gig.
