Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation activates music education in Bay area schools throughout the year, but the nonprofit throws a big party for four nights in October. The Clearwater Jazz Holiday kicks off next Thursday with a soul and R&B based lineup (Boyz II Men, Soul Rebels, Polyrhythmics) before welcoming Trombone Shorty, Robert Randolph, Chicago, Allison Krauss and more to the other headlining slots. Get there early on Saturday to see some of the state’s best jazz players in action. Look for additional details in next week’s edition of CL.

Thurs. Oct. 17-Sun. Oct. 20, $20 & up. Coachman Park, 301 Drew St., Clearwater. clearwaterjazz.com.
