Big Gigantic w/Monozygotik With a name and sound that makes up for their diminutive size, Big Gigantic – a Boulder, Colo.-based jamtronica duo comprised of saxophonist/producer Dominic Lalli and drummer Jeremy Salken – mixes elements of up-tempo instrumental electronica, discofied jazz and hip hop, Lalli’s silky sax wails nestled amid electro sonic atmospherics and bleeptasms, zipper-fuzz synth grooves, and syncopated rhythms. Sound Tribe Sector 9 signed the duo to its boutique label, 1320 Records, last year and their second album, A Place Behind the Moon, followed soon after. 8 p.m., State Theatre, St. Petersburg, $13 in advance/$14 dos.

The Queers w/The Apers/Dead Cat Lounge The seminal New England punk pop band is a direct musical descendent of the Ramones, and just dropped an LP of snotty new tunage, Back To The Basement, their first piece since ‘07. 7 p.m. doors, Orpheum, Ybor City, $12.50 (all ages).

w/COPE Deep and greasy waka waka funk with a healthy dose of brawny NOLA soul as delivered by singer, songwriter and keyboard overlord Ivan Neville, son of Aaron, brother to guitarist and co-bandmate Ian, and leader of his own move-inducing ensemble, Dumpstaphunk. The three-piece rhythm section is marked by the fat string plucking and slapping of bassists Nick Daniels and Tony Hall (who also plays aux guitar), and drummer Raymond Weber. The quintet is currently celebrating the release of their debut recording, Everybody Want Sum, a five-song EP that includes a single ("Oughta Know Better") co-written by legendary guitarist Warren Haynes. 8 p.m. doors, Crowbar, Ybor City, $15.

Cheap Girls w/Y Los Dos Pistoles/Inertia The Lansing, Mich. three-piece purveys a brand of young and grungy roots rock, and is currently gearing up to take it on the road in support of Against Me! and Fences. 8 p.m., Transitions Art Gallery @ Skatepark of Tampa, Tampa, $5.
