Juggalo Day Weekend w/Twiztid/Shaggy 2 Dope/Blaze/ABK/Lex the Hex Master/Young Lyte In September, Insane Clown Posse are calling for a million Juggalos to march in Washington D.C. in protest of the FBI’s designation of Juggalos as a “loosely organized hybrid gang.” The jury is still out on that (and a federal judge is set to hear ICP’s appeal on the weekend of the “Million Juggalo March”), but you can get a taste of it this weekend when Twiztid (a Detroit horrorcore group featuring members of House of Krazees) leads the way for Juggalo Day Weekend where ICP sympathizers will do their best not to overdose on Faygo as they move through what is sure to be a vape-cloud covered Jannus Live. Lobo Marino w/Redfeather/Mountain Holler/Mouth Council Lobo Marino have a pretty interesting show booked yesterday before this one at The Loft, but we’d want to see the Richmond, Virgina outfit work through their vibrant, droney folk music at this one where two of our favorite St. Pete music makers (Mark Etherington and Billy Mays III) orchestrate tunes under their Redfeather, Mountain Holler and Mouth Council monikers. Florida Orchestra Masterworks: Beethoven's Symphony No. 2 The master chorale of Tampa Bay will be joined by harpist Anna Kate Mackle, mezzo-soprano Anita Krause and baritone James K. Bass (come on dude, is that your real name?) as conductor Michael Francis leads the Florida Orchestra through selections by Debussy (Danse Sacrée et Danse Profane), Duruflé (Requiem) along with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2. The work, composed at the beginning of the 19th century also came as the composer was starting to realize that his deafness might be something he could not stop from progressing. Performances kick off on Friday at Tampa’s Straz Center before moving to St. Pete and Clearwater in the following days. More information is at floridaorchestra.org. Bette, Babs and Beyond Kickoff For its 15th anniversary, Una Voce The Gay Men's Chorus of Tampa Bay announced that their season would reflect "the chorus’ mission to celebrate the inherent dignity of all people during this divisive and turbulent time." They’ll underscore their diversity in the hopes of creating a louder voice for more underrepresented communities, and they’re using the power of three B’s (Bette Midler, Barbra Streisand and Beyonce) to make it happen. “Music reaches people’s hearts and creates an immediate sense of community,” said chorus artistic director Joseph Caulkins. “In this turbulent time, the opportunity for us to come together and reach out with a positive message while doing something we love is incredibly important.” (The Space, Tampa) INFO

You're Gonna Get It! w/Pleasures/The Welzeins/Grizzly Atoms Catching St. Pete demon rockers Pleasures in the Green Bench beer garden is a trippy experience (look for Brian Mahar’s December 2016 photo set here), and they’ll be performing and screening their horror short, “You’re Gonna Get It!,” at this show, so it’s good that they’ve asked The Welzeins from Orlando to help fill the middle in with sounds from their April 2016 EP, Megafauna, which was one of the best garage rock records of last year. The Grizzly Atoms, also from the City Beautiful, round it out with their own 2016 EP of weird psychobilly, Witness, which they released in October. (Green Bench Brewing Company, St. Petersburg) INFO

Gospel Extravaganza Local church choirs join an army of praise and worship dancers, mime ministers (look it up) for a free show happening in Clearwater as part of African American History month at St. Petersburg College’s Clearwater campus. Paint It Forward w/DJ Fader It’s not customary to stare at the DJ booth at an art gallery, but you might find one of us doing just that at Cass Contemporary on Friday when nearly three dozen artists take to Cass Contemporary for "Paint It Forward." The South Tampa space will be filled with selections by DJ Fader, who can always be found behind the wheels of steel at long-running Ybor City weekly Ol’ Dirty Sundays. Artists include St. Pete-based folks like Bask, but the lineup also gets a lot of love from beyond state lines thanks to visitors from Los Angeles like Gregory Siff and pink-loving pop artist Buff Monster. Coppertail brews will flow and a trio of Bay area heavyweights (Bern’s, Haven and Rooster & the Till) will handle the catering. RSVPs at info@casscontemporary.com(Cass Contemporary, Tampa) INFO
