An Atomic Whirl w/Vacancy/Weak Knees Nothing against Weak Knees (which has an excellent bouncy new track, “Song Number Two," streaming on Bandcamp), but we’re super stoked to see a set from a new sludge-rock trop Vacancy. The group released a demo last month and is fronted by Elliot Mayo whose reverb-soaked vocal sounds angry as ever on songs like “Pulled Under” and “My Way Out.” The big highlight on the bill — happening in the usually quiet confines of The Bunker in Ybor City — is a visit from Japanese punks Atomic Whirl who’ll hopefully play a bunch of stuff from WEN, an April 2017 LP where an attractive take on noisy, experimental self-described “doomjazz” makes for one of the coolest DIY releases we’ve heard this year. Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons Hey gang, we think it’s really happening this time. After a few postponed dates, oldie icons Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons are finally headed to Clearwater for their 19th show at Ruth Eckerd Hall. We might have to disown you if you’ve never heard “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” but you’ll have a slim chance of getting in since this show is dangerously close to selling out.
