Three noteworthy concerts are happening on either side of Tampa Bay on this Tue., March 22. Breakdown below.

Foxing with O’Brother, Tancred, Adjy St. Louis quintet Foxing plies melody drenched emo-influenced post rock, with the clear high-toned vocals of Conor Murphy damn near hitting falsetto notes in songs like “The Magdalene,” off fresh sophomore LP Dealer. He also adds classy trumpet swells and the odd sample flourishes to his band’s guitar-tinkling instrumentals. (Crowbar, Ybor City)

Jazz Jam The weekly Tuesday night instrumental jam session hosted by trumpeter James Suggs at The Amsterdam moves down Central Avenue to the downstairs lounge at Moscato’s. For the debut at this new location, Suggs joined by drummer Paul Gavin, keys player Strech Bruyn, and bassist Daniel Navarro, along with the usual impromptu sit-ins by other local jazz talents. (The Underground at Moscato’s, St. Petersburg)

ABSU with Promethean Horde, Vomikaust, Grave Ascension, Disevered It’s a night of heavy raging sounds as led by Dallas three-piece Absu, active since the late ‘80s, on tour hyping forthcoming seventh album Apsu, and plying black and thrash metal with lyrical themes inspired by the occult and ancient Celtic, Sumerian and Mesopotamian mythology. (Brass Mug, Tampa)
